Was down in Portobello having a walk with the family and decided to have a quick pint, so popped in here. Quite a busy, interesting old bar and lots of tables with families, having food and stuff. So ordered a pint of Tennants, none too bad, cold and tasted fine but the price was way too expensive, I could have got a pint a quid cheaper up in Edinburgh town, so for that, I will not be back! Thank you.
What a lovely find. Seats outside with view of the beach. Great service and really friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and good value too. And doggos welcome. Ours loved the liver cake!
Arrived 6ish, got seated quickly, ordered a chicken burger & fish and chips, food was nice & tasty, only gave it 4 on service due to the wrong drinks order.
We were walking the dogs and come across this place had a lovely lunch and they were dog friendly as well the food was delicious
The food was good and the general ambiance was quite nice. The restaurant has a 50s/60s theme combined with a coastal theme with the decor being posters and pictures from that era. The fish and chips are the highlight of the menu so I definitely recommend that as they were fresh and not over-battered and oily. Prices are reasonable considering the portion size. Drinks are fantastic and there's a handful of unique drinks as well. Overall, I would recommend coming here if in the area!
Wonderful place! Food, drinks and atmosphere are amazing and also the staff is very competent and friendly! After a great first impression a few years ago it needed a coming back and we were more than happy with that choice!
It's a pleace we used to go years ago when kids were.small. we passed by popped in its very tiered looking but if you look beyond that the food is fresh and tasty with lovely staff who are attentive. Reasonable prices to. Sit in out out by the beach front Amazing smoothies to
Adding to my previous experience. Today we had an early lunch. The team were really welcoming and helpful. Great food as always and first time i had the Nachoes sharing platter, but was perfect for a hungry lad Kids loved their fish and chips, and my wife had a nice linguine. Thank you! When possible we have for years liked coming to the Espy for breakfast or lunches. It works well with the kids and especially when we can get a window seat to see the world go by, literally and taking in the stunning views. The team were great and really accommodating, despite not having a booking they welcomed all four of us in. We were pleased to once again get our favourite table. The menu has also changed a bit over the years, but still a fantastic choice and I'd say something for everyone. Coffees are still amazing and just wish we had time to visit more often.
